What you must see in Boskovice
The Boskovice Jewish Quarter with its synagogue, spa and cemetery represents an exceptional urban complex and is one of the most complete and best-preserved monuments of Jewish culture in the Czech Republic. The most interesting attraction is the Synagogue Maior on Traplova Street, where you can see a permanent exhibition on the history and monuments of the local Jewish community. Opposite, in the basement of the house U Templu No. 3/5, you can see a Jewish ritual bath - mikveh, and on the western edge of the city you can see a Jewish cemetery.
Who should you know from the gentlemen from Boskovice?
In Boskovice you will discover several manor houses, the creation of which was contributed by three different noble families. The oldest is the ruin of a Gothic castle, once the ancestral seat of the lords of Boskovice. When the Ditrichštejn family acquired the estate, they exchanged the uncomfortable and poorly accessible castle for the Baroque Residence at the foot of the hill, which today houses the Boskovice Museum. The third residence is an elegant Empire chateau with a charming garden, cared for by the Mensdorff-Pouilly family. Come here for costumed Christmas tours, for example!
Travel pleasures north of Brno
In the Boskovice Western Town you will experience the unique atmosphere of the Wild West with Indians and cowboys, saloons and open-air theatre scenes. You can enjoy water fun in the indoor aquapark or at the Červená zahrada summer swimming pool, you are also invited to the Kořenec golf course. The Šmelcovna Arboretum is a pleasant place for trips with a zoo and a number of fairy-tale scenes, and with children you can also enhance your journey through Boskovice by collecting stamps for a travel book and getting to know the local ghosts.
